We met in very different conditions at Church this morning - with rows and aisles spread apart and many people (understandably) choosing to stay home and self isolate. A story was shared about a dear lady who'd recently passed away at the grand age of 94 - which I'd like to share...
Aunty Joy was well known in her family for sending everyone a handmade birthday card and a hankie each year...this probably doesn't sound too unusual or spectacular, until you find that this sweet lady had been doing so for over 60 years...and had over 160 names in her Birthday address book!!
In these unprecedented times let's all be like Aunty Joy - let's stay connected and use whatever means we have to let others know that we care.
Our store in Nambour will be open until laws dictate otherwise, but we will also offer delivery and post whenever possible, across Australia and New Zealand. Whilst our website at present only contains a selection of our Cardmaking and Scrapbooking kits - if you've visited our store you'll know we have a huge variety of papercraft products. We are working hard to rectify this situation and investigate ways that we can bring more products, projects and joy your way in the coming days.
Thanks so much for your support - we are here for you and we firmly believe that 'together we can' get through this crisis.
Please feel free to like and share any of our posts - it helps alot!
I almost forgot to mention that Aunty Joy always included the same verse in her cards year on year, no matter who she was posting to, Phillippians 4:8 - good advice for us all :)

Happy 2016!

A new year means new beginnings....what that means probably varies from person to person and household to household!  It's important to take the time to reflect on the highs and lows of the previous year, as well as decide on plans for the year ahead.
If you are an avid papercrafter, it may be an ideal time to look at your stash and review what you have, what you need to use and how you'll use it!  No matter how large your craft room there's only so much you can possess and most of us like to buy more from time to time - so that makes it really important to plan and use your 'goodies' whenever the opportunity arises, or give away items you are sure you'll never use - plenty of kindy and childcare centres will be happy to receive your donations.
A good way to stay motivated is to stay connected with other crafty people - you can do this by reading blogs such as ours, browsing the internet (Pinterest and Youtube), reading magazines and books, checking facebook (make sure you 'like' Daisy Chain Scrapbooks!!) and by coming into the store regularly and seeing what's new, attending a class or workshop and getting to know other people in the area.
It's great to journal your plans, your goals and your dreams - start an inspiration board, or a gratitude journal or a  simple old - fashioned diary.
Whatever you decide, enjoy what you do, and don't wait til 'one day' start today and make it happen!
